Creating happy consumers, supporting the well-being of our associates, and reducing waste in our business processes has been part of the culture at American Licorice since 1914. We want to make American Licorice a great place to work, have a positive impact on our communities, and create a sustainable business model that respects and makes the most efficient use of our natural resources.
In the “Stewardship” portion of our website, we have the pleasure of providing information about some of our efforts to address the needs of our stakeholders. We also hope to provide the public with a chance to get to know us as a company and the associates that make it all happen!
We support our communities, with donations and volunteerism, with a focus on education and by promoting physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle. Each associate receives 16 paid hours to volunteer. On this website, we also highlight our partnership with the Kids in Need Foundation and our support of our communities with donations. You can also read about our annual company service trip.
We set a zero waste goal across all offices and facilities to be reached by 2016 (and we are already very close to reaching it) and a carbon emissions reduction goal to be reached by 2015. You can also see our current emissions report and read about our associate sustainability incentive program, Take One Action!, designed to create a culture of sustainable behavior across the organization.
We educate our associates on our values and ethical business practices.
We market and source our products responsibly.
We support our associate efforts to live a healthy lifestyle through education and by providing opportunities for physical activity and a nutritious diet.
We work to prevent accidents, injuries, and illness in the workplace.
Thank you for reading our story, and thank you for the opportunity to be of service.
