Take One Action for Sustainability, Save up to $290 on Water and Energy

By Laurel Haas on August 22, 2012 | Category: News | 1 Comment

This month’s Take One Action theme is based on an article from Earth911.com, identifying 8 ways to save money on water and energy.   Associates at American Licorice can save up to $290 in September by taking shorter showers, fixing leaky faucets, scraping dishes instead of pre-rinsing, creating a toilet dam, washing full loads, switching to CFLs, using power strips, and turning off the tap while brushing teeth.  Not only can associates save money, they learn to reduce waste in water and energy–and one participant drawn in each locaiton will have an opportunity to choose a charity for a donation of  $100.

So far, 58 associates have participated, taking 118 different actions, and saving up to around $2,200 in the month of September!

There’s a positive impact for the planet in taking these actions, conserving water, a scarce resource, and saving energy.  According to water.org, 884 million people lack access to clean water, more than 3 times the entire U.S. population.  This year’s drought in the U.S. is creating more awareness of water issues across the globe.  Check out the UN’s World Water Day  website, for more information.

I have been a Red Vines fan for a very long time. Never liked Twizzlers because of all the crap they put in their product. I like the pure ingredients you put in yours. And I love the fact to see that you are environmentally conscious. That pleases me to no end. Are your products free of GMO ingredients?
