Sales associates team up to help the Golden Gate Park Conservancy

American Licorice’s sales team were fortunate to have the opportunity to help the Golden Gate Park Conservancy with trail maintenance on the gorgeous shores of Fort Funston in San Francisco, California, in June. The Park Conservancy is a non-profit organization that manages national park sites, like Fort Funston, north and south of the Golden Gate bridge.  37 park sites are visited by 16 million visitors each year, and the area is the second most visited national park area in the United States. According to the Park Conservancy’s website, the parks contain “1,000 types of plants, 250 bird species, and more federally-listed endangered and threatened species than in any other national park in the continental U.S.”

Service is important to George, one of our National Sales Managers, a regular volunteer at a Soup Kitchen in New York state, and as the organizer of the meeting, he came up with the idea of a service activity as a team building activity. The sales team put in a hard day, pulling up fence posts buried under the dunes–they were rewarded by the opportunity to work by the shores of the pacific ocean on a beautiful day.
